Spa Etiquette

Here we present guidelines for the spa guest which will help you at your spa vacation.
When visiting a spa resort during a spa weekend you are expected to:

  • Arrive on time or early for your appointment, to enjoy the spa resort.
  • Relax! That's why you are in the health spa..
  • Take pleasure in, and benefit of allowing others to "do for you".
  • Do not bring children to a bath spa, health spa or day spa and leave them unattended, this is incredibly unruly to other spa goers and risky for children.
  • In general, remove your clothes entirely for body services, your therapist will keep your body draped in dry services and expose no more than the area to be worked upon, though in wet services such as body wraps, body scrubs and hydrotherapies you will not be draped in order to reap utmost benefits. (Swimsuits are optional in some of these services).
  • Allow the therapist to carry out a service as booked and timed.
  • Provide the therapist with feedback as to your comfort and special troubled areas.
  • Be aware of that you are in a professional spa therapy operations and do not anticipate anything other than therapeutic or spa services.
  • Know that you may be silent or gently talkative.
  • Relax, yet respect that the room must be prepared and used for the next client; so know that you must leave treatment room upon end of service within a rational amount of time.
  • Share public space respectfully with other health spa goers.
  • Give sincere feedback to the therapist, receptionist, owner, etc, as operation staff cares to know if your spa experiences was as expected.
  • As in every services-related business it is common practice to tip the person who has done a fine job to the satisfaction of the client. The rule of thumb in day spas is 10%-15% of the cost of service, or about $10.00 to $15.00 for a one hour treatment. Spas generally give an envelope at the front desk when checking out for you to put the gratuity into it with the therapist's name. You do not have to bring money with you and be anxious about this while enjoying the spa facilities.
